Wet vs. Dry Manicures

Many users are opting out of going to the salon every week with the ever changing modern world. Over the last few years, the dynamic of getting your nails done which was once a luxury, may take a backseat to other essentials in our daily lives.

Many brands are opening up to end users as the amount of men & women who have opted to move towards doing nails at home and saving the select occasion of going to the salon for special events. Thus, the Dry Manicure has come into play across social media and is  increasing in popularity by the day.

What is a Dry Manicure? What is a Wet Manicure?

A Dry Manicure that can consist of different types of enhancements but they remove the soaking aspect of water. This process typically consists of a full set of nails that removes the water contents from the procedure entirely. No soaking or washing through the process. Many at home users &  Professionals alike are moving towards a quick interaction between clients as everyone seems to be in a hurry these days, allowing a Faster application for quick results. Some professionals even come to say that things like Polish’s stay on longer without peeling & chipping due to laying directly on the nail plate with no moisture interference. Even Disinfecting sprays can be used to cleanse hands in place of washing hands. Plus not having to risk worrying about moving a warm bowl of liquid all over!

A Wet Manicure would of course include things like soaking hands in water to soften cuticles or washing hands in a hand bath. This is something that can be sold as a high-end experience and have more of a pampering effect on clients. Is it necessary? No, there are ways around it but this is typically held for more of a professional or luxury experience. Plus, soaking hands in water can be great for people who have very dry skin or thicker cuticles. It makes it easier to push cuticles away from the nail plate and lift easier for removal.
