1. Sterilize Tools and Nail Station. Remove any additional residue or enhancement on nails if necessary.
2. Prep Your Nails. Clean, file, and buff your nails. Push back cuticles and remove any oils with PH Plus Bonder.
3. Primer Application Optional. Use primer to promote stronger & longer lasting manicure.
4. Pour Nomma Plus Monomer into a Dappen Dish. Fluff powder in a Jar.
5. Dip brush bristles into the liquid. Wipe excess liquid on the dish to remove too much liquid on the surface of the bristles.
6. Dip the brush into the Acrylic Powder & wait for the bead to form on the brush.
Tip: Too dry of a bead will not melt evenly; too wet of a bead will run.
7. Apply the bead of acrylic to the center of the nail and sculpt out evenly from side to side, and down the tip of the nail. Repeat as needed for additional coverage.
Tip: Sculpt the nail in three zones. Mix ratio of 1.5 parts liquid to 1 part powder.
8. Repeat Steps until full set has been created.
9. Give time for nails to dry. Standard setting powders typically dry between 5-8 minutes.
10. File for shape.
11. Optional – Apply Dual Sealer as a Top Coat for an extra shiny finish. Dual Sealer is a Universal Top Coat that is cured under a LED/UV light.
1. Sterilize Tools and Nail Station. Remove any additional residue or enhancement on nails if necessary.
2. Prep Your Nails. Clean up the cuticle, file, and buff your nails.
3. Apply a thin coat of PH Plus Bonder
4. Apply a thin layer of Thin Resin or Medium Resin. Wipe away any resin that may have gotten on your clients skin.
Tip: All of our Dip Resin are interchangeable but we recommend using Thin as the Base, Thick as the Top and Medium as the Base or Top.
5. With the lid still on, shake the Powder jar to fluff up the powder
6. Create a base layer using Adv Gel Clear Powder to avoid any pigment staining on the Nailbed. Dip the wet nail directly into the freshly fluffed dip powder.
7. Gently knock or tap the bottom of the finger to let excess powder fall off. Repeat on all Nails. With a fluffy brush, wipe off nails and skin of excess powder.
Tip: Insert the nail into the powder at a 45 degree angle to avoid clumping of powder on the nail
8. Repeat Steps 2-4 with desired colored powder 2-3 times until you get the coverage you desired.
9. Once the color has been applied, use a small amount of Harden Fast Dip Activator over the top of the powder.
10. Buff & File for shape & length.
11. Apply a thin, smooth layer of Medium or Thick Dip Resin and allow it to air dry without use of the activator. This will take approximately 4-5 minutes to cure with a shiny finish.
Optional: Skip the Resin as a Top Coat and use Dual Sealer for a high Shine Finish.
12. Moisturize hands with Massage Butter and wipe nails down with a lint-free wipe and apply Cuticle Oil for nourishment to the cuticles and nail bed.
Acrylic powder, also known as nail polymer, comes in various types for different purposes. The most common types are clear, white, and cover powders. Clear acrylic powder is a staple used for creating a transparent base or for encapsulating nail art, glitter, or designs. White powder is essential for creating crisp, classic French manicures. Cover powders are opaque and designed to conceal imperfections on the nail bed, such as discoloration, and are used for creating a flawless, natural-looking foundation or for nail bed extensions. There are also a huge variety of colored acrylic powders that offer endless creative possibilities without the need for additional nail polish.
Achieving a smooth, bubble-free application depends on the liquid to powder ratio and proper technique. The most common cause of bubbles is a bead that is too dry (too much powder). The ideal consistency is a “creamy” bead that spreads smoothly. Using a high-quality, professional-grade powder and a compatible monomer is crucial. You should also work in a well-ventilated area to ensure the product cures properly. For best results, use a tapping and patting motion with your brush to gently guide the product and eliminate any trapped air.
Investing in a high-quality acrylic powder is a key factor in the durability and overall look of your nails. Professional-grade powders are formulated with a finer mill, which helps create a smoother, more even application and reduces the risk of lumps. They offer superior adhesion, which is critical for preventing lifting and chipping. High-quality powders also have a non-yellowing formula that keeps your nails looking fresh and vibrant over time, especially with exposure to UV light. Ultimately, a premium product provides a better, more professional finish and a longer-lasting manicure.
For beginners, the best acrylic powder is one that is easy to control and has a slower setting time. This gives you more time to sculpt and perfect the bead before it hardens. Look for products labeled as “self-leveling,” which means the powder naturally settles into a smooth surface, reducing the amount of filing needed. Kits that combine a matching monomer and powder from the same brand are also highly recommended, as they are chemically designed to work together for optimal results. Brands known for their beginner-friendly formulations often have excellent online tutorials and resources to help you get started.
The most popular and fast-selling types of acrylic powder cater to both professional salon use and DIY enthusiasts. Clear and white powders are essential staples for all nail technicians. Cover powders in various shades of nude, pink, and beige are also top sellers because they create a flawless, natural look for nail extensions and overlays. In the fashion and creative categories, vibrant colored acrylic powders and glitter powders are consistently popular, especially for seasonal and special occasion nail art. The demand for bulk acrylic powder is also high, particularly among professional nail supply stores and salons.
